The Assignment

Each student will also prepare and present in class ONE PowerPoint presentation on a business article of their choice from the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Business Week, Fortune, Forbes or any other business publication. The PowerPoint Presentation must be presented in class by the end of the 7th Week, or one letter grade will be deducted for each week after the 7th Week. After you present your presentation in class, a copy of the PowerPoint Presentation is to be emailed to: thayer-draper@BerkeleyCollege.edu the same day.

THIS OUTLINE MUST BE USED FOR ALL CLASS POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS SUBMITTED:

I.                      SUMMARIZE THE ARTICLE

II.                      IDENTIFY THREE PROBLEM(S) IN THE ARTICLE

III.                   MAKE TWO RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EACH PROBLEM (YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS)

IV.                   SUPPORT EACH RECOMMENDATION WITH TWO SUPPORTS FROM YOUR TEXTBOOK (the index is probably the best place to go).

Example: On pages____ of the text, I found “this information” that supports the recommendations I have developed.  Also, please indicate HOW and WHY the information from the text supports each recommendation.

Please remember to identify 3 problems from each article summary. Then develop your recommendations to solve each problem. Then develop supporting paragraphs from the text or other credible sources for each recommendation.  You might use the index of your textbook to find the “keywords” you have written in each of your recommendations, and then read about them in the text or other credible source (also another text-no online sources), to see if you can use any of that information to support your recommendations.  Any questions, please ask me.
