CLASS ASSIGNMENT

ENG 3315 (Advanced Writing)

Prof. F. Modesto

Write an Investigative Paper on a topic that has socio-political and/or cultural significance. A topic that you are curious about is also acceptable. Research your topic at length, use at least 3 SCHOLARLY SOURCES.

You should place yourself in the position of an investigator--you should be curious about and interested in your topic, you should also look at different aspects and angles.Find out as much as possible about your topic. And then based on your findings and personal life experiences, write a 5-7 typed pages (double space) paper in which you discuss the topic, report and evaluate the findings, and take a position or stance regarding this topic. The paper should be well organized, with an introduction, clear and focused thesis, a body, and a conclusion. It should have a Works Cited Page and a title.

Please see the Sample MLA Paper (with the Works Cited Page and directions on how to cite source) I have posted in Course Material. Also, please see the Scoring Rubric on pp. 10-11 in your syllabus.
