Your Assignment

Training Program Proposal

There are three components to the training proposal and each will be handed in at different times. The full proposal will be due in Week 10 and is worth 25% of your final grade for this course.

1. NEEDS Assessment (ADDIE) - 10% of Final Grade (See Rubric Below)

The training needs assessment includes 1) the identification of performance requirements, 2) the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed by individuals to achieve the requirements, 3) the "gap" between performance required and current performance (e.g., sales at $8 million a year as opposed to goal of $12 million a year), 4) an explanation of the causes for the gap and 5) a training program for eliminating the gap. Finally it includes the consequences for ignoring the gaps.

2. Program Design and Lesson Plan - 10% of Final Grade

Program design will include information such as title, audience, purpose, goals, time, etc. Lesson plan will include activities, timeframe and objectives for a specific lesson for the program.

3. Evaluation Plan - 5% of Final Grade

The evaluation plan should include a description of “instruments (i.e., surveys, exams) used to determine if the training program met the programmatic goals. The evaluation plan should address at least three of the four levels of Kirkpatrick’s Model for Evaluation.
