Your Assignment

After reading William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily," find a literary critic's interpretation of "A Rose for Emily" that you agree or disagree with.  Write a 3 - 4 page paper explaining three reasons why you agree or disagree with that critic's interpretation of the story. Use quotations from both "A Rose for Emily" and from the critic's analysis of the story to support your viewpoint.  In-text citations need to be included after each quote, and a Works Cited page is necessary. Make it approximately 30% quotations and 70% your own interpretation.
