In his book, Dr. Adubato teaches readers to be self-aware, empathetic, and effective leaders at work and at home. Fall 2016 Online Book Club: To Iraq & Back: On war and writing

We are excited to announce our Fall 2016 book selection for the Berkeley College Online Book Club: To Iraq & Back: On war and writing by Jessica Scott. Ms. Scott is an active-duty Army officer, a veteran of the Iraq war, and mother of two.

Please join us on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 9:30 AM EST for a Presentation/Q&A Event with Ms. Scott at the Paramus Campus Student Lounge and Livestreamed OnlineA link to the live event can be found by clicking here (when it becomes available).

Virtual discussions will take place on our Goodreads page starting Monday, November 7th and will continue until Tuesday, November 22nd. Join the discussion here on Goodreads!

In 2009, Jessica Scott deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.  It was a year of many firsts. This is the first-person journey through a combat tour in Iraq, through being a woman in the Army, and learning to be an officer in the unforgiving environment of a brigade combat team. This is the journey of a writer, learning to find her voice.  This is the journey of a mother, confronting the emotions of leaving her children.  This is the story of an inexperienced lieutenant, growing into a leader.

All students, faculty, and staff from every campus are welcome to participate. Please join us as we read a new work each semester, and connect virtually to discuss the written word.
