The project based internship will be completed in partnership with The Ronald McDonald House.
Background
The Ronald McDonald House New York provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families in a strong, supportive and caring environment which encourages and nurtures the development of child-to-child and parent-to-parent support systems. The House welcomes children and families from across the country and the world. They can accommodate 84 families and is filled to capacity almost every night. Since their founding, more than 35,000 families have stayed at the House.
Objectives
For this project based internship you will be asked to work on increasing the awareness of families in the health care units about the benefits of the new RMH Family Room at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Students will work in groups for this internship in order to complete the following objectives:

Project Assessment
In addition to weekly discussion board participation and a midterm PowerPoint presentation, students will work with their team members to develop a formal PowerPoint presentation to be submitted to your Professor and the Ronald McDonald House for review.
The purpose of this project is to demonstrate what you have learned during this internship. In addition, the project will serve as a formal presentation to the Ronald McDonald House on how the strategies, research, and skills learned throughout the internship has provided benefits to the patients and their families who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
