Berkeley College has a long tradition of involvement with and service to the communities we serve. Continuing that tradition has become an important part of the Berkeley experience, involving students, alumni, faculty, and staff to support worthy causes. Community service efforts align with the mission and values of Berkeley College, exemplifying the idea that teaching and learning take place both in and out of the academic setting.
The BerkeleyCares program was created to organize efforts that address important social, economic, and environmental issues in the community. Throughout each year, members of the Berkeley community provide thousands of hands-on volunteer hours, supporting organizations in the critical areas of food, health, shelter, and student success. Since 2009, Berkeley College volunteers have contributed more than 16,000 volunteer service hours to community organizations in New Jersey and New York.

Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and members of the community with any level of knitting or crocheting experience – from beginners to experts – are invited to join a project to provide comfort to infants in the hospital.
• Instructions, patterns, and supplies (if needed) will be provided.
• Projects must be created in a smoke- and vape-free environment.
• Knitters and crocheters will complete projects at their leisure, and items will be donated to local hospitals several times a year.
We hope you’ll join us in supporting this great cause!
