The March 2021 COVID-19 relief law (ARP) extends eligibility for ACA health insurance subsidies to people buying their own health coverage on the Marketplace who have incomes over 400% of poverty. The law also increases the amount of financial assistance for people at lower incomes who were already eligible under the ACA. The number of people eligible for a subsidy to purchase Obamacare coverage has increased 20% from 18.1 million to 21.8 million for 2021.
