Using Articles in your Research

Articles can provide useful information about your designer's life, business, design principles, career, and inspiration.

Try combining terms in your searches, such as the designer's name and words like "interview", "inspiration", "customer," and other words and phrases from the assignment description.

You may not find articles specifically on how "Designer A influenced Designer B", but you can find articles on each that discuss common features such as textiles, fabrics, silhouettes, target customer, design concepts, background, and inspiration.

Use sources such as Fashion Snoops, fashion periodicals, WWD, and the Met Costume Institute (under Additional Resources) to find images of each designer's work. Notice connections, similarities, and inspirations between works by different designers.
