The Bridge on the River Kwai
This film finds a group of British prisoners building a railroad bridge for the Japanese in southeast Asia during World War II. One important point made by the British engineer is that site selection is a key decision in bridge construction. As construction of the bridge progresses, so does an operation intended to destroy it. In an ironic ending, both projects are accomplished.
