Come to a panel discussion led by Katherine Wu, Accessibility Services, and Ihor Andruch, Career Services, on the supports and services available to help people with records and/or substance use disorders get jobs. National Disability Awareness Month event, Removing Barriers: Getting a Job Against the Odds.  Career Services and Accessibility Services have convened a panel of individuals who work with people who have been incarcerated and/or have substance use disorders obtain jobs. The panel features 2016 Berkeley graduate and Criminal Justice major, Valaida Hall.

The speakers are Valaida Hall, '16 (Reentry Services Coordinator, Paterson Reentry Assistance Program), Helena Muhammad (Facility Director-Passaic County, New Jersey Reentry Corporation), and William Parker (Peer Recovery Specialist, CarePlus New Jersey).

Listen to this heartfelt discussion on addiction, the difficulties of choosing to live in the face of addiction, and support services for substance users and the incarcerated.

Helen Keller Services and Academy Award nominated film maker Doug Roland spoke with the Berkeley College community to increase awareness of the DeafBlind community. Mr. Roland was nominated for Best Live Action Short Film for Feeling Through

The Thursday, February 9 session focuses on Doug Roland's film, Feeling Through.

The Friday, February 10 session, is a conversation with deafblind individuals Scott Davert and Eleanor Codey-Brody of the Helen-Keller National Center.
