Streaming Media - Video Collections

Introduction to On-Demand Video

The Library has limited funds available to acquire curriculum-aligned streaming videos that we don't currently have access to. In certain cases the library can buy the rights to a film directly from the publisher, but more often, we are able to lease a title from a partner vendor such as Kanopy, Alexander Street Press, SWANK, or Films Media Group.

Most of our partner vendors operate on an annual leasing model. After a lease expires, the library loses access to the film unless we renew the lease. If the library leases a video on your behalf, it will be your responsibility to follow up with us annually to request renewal (if the video is still needed).

On-demand streaming video requests must be made by Berkeley College faculty members, for academic course use only. Students are encouraged to use the library's extensive licensed collections. Faculty members may request one video per course per academic year; additional titles will need to be approved in writing by the Department Chair.
